wilderness path

a significant inner journey

“Scars are evidence of a wound. The scar is without pain.

Wounds are evidence of an injury. They are with pain.

When a wound is unhealed, it needs to be cared for.

We are here to discover and heal the wounds of the mind,

restore it to health, and make the wound a scar.

Scars become our experiences to be shared painlessly with others.”

SCARS, WOUNDS AND INJURIES

Inner conflict is an unhealed wound. It is not a scar, because a scar is without pain.

Wounds have pain associated with them. They are not scars.

Some of our inner turmoil is very deep, far back in the mind, too far back to reveal it in memory. But it is IN memory. Memory recall, really, is when we have an encounter with a person, place, thing, event that stirs a disturbance in us. In this regard, the thing that stirs us is a BLESSING because it relates us to something unhealed in us.

Disturbances are then blessings unhealed and yet to be discovered. We are disturbed not because we do not know what it is, but because we do not WANT to know what it is.

To FORGET is not correction, or healing.

Forgetting takes an incredible amount of mind power to exercise. It is a PUSHING DOWN of what is not to be seen. Think of how difficult it is to hold a balloon full of air under water. It takes a lot of power. That is what forgetting does. It tries to hold under the water the balloon, and sooner or later the balloon is going to pop up out of the water.

The only way to heal is to investigate an reveal the discomfort, see it, understand it is ours, own it and not project or deny it, grieve it, and release it. Then we are healed.

FORGETTING does not heal. Nor does thinking positive, because positive thinking only COVERS or MASKS the thing in us that is disturbed. In fact, when we LOOK TO BE POSITIVE, usually it is some form of negative energy that is motivating us TO “THINK POSITIVE.”

Consider these ideas at the body level, and as you do, look at this as synonymous with the mind and its memories -

Scars are evidence of a wound. The scar is without pain.

Wounds are evidence of an injury. They are with pain.

When a wound is unhealed, it needs to be cared for.

When the wound is healed, and the absence of pain arrives, then it becomes a scar.

A scar can be probed, talked about, without pain, but a wound is often difficult to probe and uncovering it brings pain.

We are here to discover and heal the wounds of the mind, restore it to health, and make the wound a scar.

Forgetting is the wound held in memory, but avoided, evaded and hidden. It is often not talked about. Unhealed wounds manifest as future difficulties and conflicts in our lives, and eventually manifest as physical sickness. NOT addressing them, and trying to cover them with nice ideas of pretty bandages do not heal the wound. It is trapped energy, and trapped energy is like a volcano - sooner or later it must come up in some fashion.

But the scar that is held in memory is without pain and can be shared with others. It WANTS to be remembered and shared, because we see how beneficial it is TO others who have unhealed wounds that can be turned into the painless scar.

Scars become our experiences to be shared painlessly with others.
