"Correctly perceived “family” would be

THE SICKNESS OF “FAMILY”
A few days ago, as we were watching a TV show on Discovery Channel named "Man VS Wild", I had a thought:
Raising a family, generation after generation, means that we can pass along our genes, and that there will always be someone younger to take care of the elders. This says that having a family ensures our survival as a human being. When any member of a family is in a life-or-death situation e.g. lost in a forest and starving, it will be the mental image and thoughts of their family which will motivate them to keep fighting and survive. Family = survival. Survival = instinct. Is raising a family our survival instinct? Do we have children because we want to extend each other, or is it merely a product of our survival instinct?
Correctly perceived “family” would be one’s relationship to ALL living things.
To confine one’s understanding to a single biological unit (family) is to encourage separation FROM the rest of the family. It is self-centered to think that way because one would only be “concerned” about one’s own “family”.
The Creator/Source is the Father, the Origin of all life and for the time being, within a body, earth is our mother and all living things in it are our brothers and sisters of the Family.
It hardly seems logical to be concerned only with one’s own family and not the earth or all living things.
Tradition, belief systems passed down from closed minded individuals and lack of understand of and responsibility to one’s Self are the roots of what constitutes the insanity of “family” systems.
Then what you teach others in your “family” affects the whole Family.
If you only care about your small insignificant biological unit then all other living things suffer from your separation FROM and exploitation OF them.
Of itself, family cannot survive.
Of itself, one cannot survive.
Separated from the ocean, a drop of ocean water cannot survive.
How many lifetimes you have already experienced and of how many “families” have you been a part?
If you are not A PART OF the One Family you are APART FROM all Life. In this regard the human race is doomed as would be the earth and all living things.
Survival is not a concept Spirit recognizes as part of Reality because life is eternal.
But how will you survive in a world where isolation from others and myopic views of them is encouraged in order to protect one’s own family or oneself?
And how is this beneficial to the Whole?
